There’s no reason to beat yourself up. The world will do that for you. What do you gain by swimming in a sea of misery in your own mind? Stress, anxiety, sorrow, grief, and self doubt can make you feel like you’re stuck in that box surrounded by swords. That’s called less than awesome.
This is the time to pause. Where are you going with all those blades holding you down anyway?
I’m in a position right now that forces me to reconsider some of my hobbies. I can keep ignoring the signs of change, or I can reevaluate and move in new directions. There is always more than one way to do what I enjoy. Just step out of the damn box!
Let’s put it in simple terms. You hit bottom. Get up and start climbing. It’s time to flip the script! Look at your own reflection. Repeat after me. “This shit stops now.”
Yeah, I know you picked Usher on Pandora, “You got it, you got it bad …” Hit Thumbs Down. Change the station. You’re not swallowing your own bullshit today. Tomorrow. Or any other day. You’re not taking on other people’s problems, mistreating yourself, feeling like a victim, or accepting defeat.
You’re awesome, and you deserve better treatment. Be kinder to yourself. It does get better.
