That’s the honor I was awarded by the Tarosophy Tarot Professionals Association. I can say with all honesty that I’m still in shock that I was chosen for this award!
My journey into Tarot started off way back in my early teens. About 25 years ago I was a scant 13 years young. I got my hands on a Waite-Smith Deck, and tried to make sense of the cards from the little white book. It didn’t take long before frustration set in. That little white book isn’t the best place for a young mind to start a journey into Tarot. My father took care of the frustration when he discovered my Tarot deck. He didn’t approve of my choice of hobbies so the cards were gone.
That could’ve been the end of my Tarot journey. I went through the rest of my years exploring myth, magic, and the Runes. I studied a few systems of divination in depth, but Tarot wasn’t part of my focused practice.
It was a few years ago during a spiritual crisis of sorts that turned my path back towards Tarot. I was doing some soul searching and contemplating a change in course. I reached out to a friend for a Tarot Reading. She made the cards come to life in a way I never knew possible. It was clear that Tarot holds keys to navigating life’s challenges.
I joined the Aeclectic Tarot Forum to start exploring Tarot in depth. That’s when I stumbled upon a post that would change my life forever.
The Golden Ticket
Marcus Katz and Tali Goodwin were about to release their book Around the Tarot in 78 Days. I found a post in the forum saying there was a Golden Ticket style promotion surrounding the book’s publication. The rules were simple: order the book, and email proof of the purchase to Marcus and Tali. The Golden Ticket was an invitation to study the book with a group of other students and mentors!
I didn’t know much about Marcus and Tali at that time. I started asking around the various forums, and doing some research of my own. I quickly discovered that Marcus and Tali are two of the most successful Tarot authors and teachers, and they also run the Tarosophy Tarot Professionals Association. A Golden Ticket indeed!
I bought the book, a new Waite-Smith deck, and received my Golden Ticket invitation. That was the catalyst that deepened my spirituality, opened doors into new worlds, developed friendships, and an ever-growing collection of Tarot Decks.
Insight and Development With Tarot Spreads
My involvement with the Tarosophy Tarot Professionals Association involves being a moderator on our Facebook Group, and also creating unique small Tarot Spreads for fun, insight, and action for our members. I post these spreads every weekend in the Facebook Group. The idea is to explore possibilities with one, two, or three card spreads. We call it TarotCreate.
I attended the TarotCon Dallas convention last year. That’s when I learned that my Tarot Spreads were impacting so many lives. People were thanking me for giving them just what they needed at just the right time. It was humbling to be greeted with so much gratitude from other professionals.
The unique Tarot Spreads I provide for our membership is what won the Tarosophist of the Year award for 2014. My actions fulfill the ultimate role of a Tarosophist which is restoring the spiritual dignity of Tarot.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for your curiosity. Thank you to all my clients of the past, present, and future. And thank you to all of you who voted for me, and supported me a Tarosophist of the Year! May you all be happy, healthy, whole, and loved.
